It is by the grace of Almighty Allah, that He has provided our community in Minnesota with a number of scholars and educators who concern themselves with ensuring that Muslims, especially in Minnesota and the USA, have the opportunity to learn their religion from the purest sources in Islam - the Quran, which is the book of Allah, and the Sunnah, or traditions, of His last messenger, Muhammad, صلى الله عليه وسلم (peace be upon him.)

The establishment of the Islamic University of Minnesota is part of our duty as Muslims to contribute to the well being of our community by educating both Muslims and non-Muslims alike. The IUMN hopes to build bridges of harmony and understanding between the Muslim community and society at large.

The mission of the University is to make Islamic knowledge available, affordable and relevant, yet authentic. The University, as an Islamic institution of higher education, aims to provide Islamic knowledge to all members of our society within reach of the IUMN interested in learning about Islam. Direct teaching is a unique aspect of the IUMN program. To make the learning experience available to a wider audience, the University strives to develop programs that will meet and exceed the needs of interested students, including those who are not able to be in the classrooms.
