The Islamic University of Minnesota is privileged to have a distinguished faculty that covers a wide breadth of areas. Below is a list of our faculty members, with a brief description of the experience and specialization and research interests of each member.
 
Sheikh. Farok Hamod Asamarai, PhD
President
  • PhD in Daawa and Education from the Islamic University in Al- Medina, Saudi Arabia.
  • Nine years as Chairman of the Department of Religion Fundamentals and President of the Department of Higher Islamic Education at Al-Yarmook University, Jordan.
  • Reviewed and supervised more than sixty PhD and MS Dissertations.
  • Co-founder and President of the Islamic University of Minnesota, and the Islamic Jurisprudence Council of Minnesota.
  • Author of five books and over ten research papers related to Islamic Education and Thinking.

  • Imam and President, Board of Trustees for Dar Al-Farooq Islamic Center in Minneapolis, MN.
  • Deputy President of the Islamic University of Minnesota and the Islamic Jurisprudence Council of Minnesota.
  • Author of eight books in Islamic studies.

Hamed Sallam, PhD

  • PhD in Nuclear Theory from Georgia State University.
  • MS in the Religious Studies from Institute of Religious Studies, Egypt.
  • Founder and President of the Islamic Association of Mankato, MN.
  • Muslim Advisor to the Minnesota Correction Facility, the Muslim Student Association and the Minnesota Security Hospital.
  • Published many Islamic and scientific books, research papers, and software packages in Arabic, English and Russian.

  • Working with the Legal Aid Society of Minneapolis as an Immigration Law Project Advocate and a board member of Twin Cities Red Cross.
  • Former member of US commission on Civil Rights.
